Sirius

Peace be upon you.

Erm…well this is probably the 3rd KBS drama special that I watched, after Rock Rock Rock and Just an Ordinary Love Story. Damn, shorter duration dramas tend to perform better I guess. Due to so-called terrible boredom, I tried to watch Sirius just for fun, to see whether it’s worth watching or not. Story about twin is rarely done before and therefore I liked the first few minutes of it and eventually spent my precious next 4 hours to watch it, well with some cheating of course.

 Do Eun-chang(hyeong)

 Do Shin-woo (dongsaeng)

I didn’t recognize that the highschooler twins is actually Nine’s teenage Park Seon-woo. Damn it, I like him so much in Nine and how come I didn’t recognize him until my friend looked at him for a few seconds and said, “He’s Park Seon-woo isn’t it?”  I was like, “Really? Omo..” My friend said, “How come you didn’t recognize him. You said it before he’s damn cute, cuter than grown-up Park Seon-woo.” Definitely I said that. Hurmm..never mind then, I have to admit that I have this kind of problem in recognizing people’s face, especially those of younger, flower-boy like.

Well, I think our Park Seon-woo did very well this time, opps no…I mean Park Hyung-shik. To play double role is indeed quite hard and for that I like him even more. One thing for sure, the actor who played grown-up twins also did an outstanding job. He is Seo Joon-young and I never watched him in drama before. He’s a newbie in my eyes and definitely will be on my radar after this. I can feel the different vibes both of them tried to convey to the audience. And no offence, I like hyeong(Do Eun-chang)  better than dongsaeng(Do Shin-woo). Hyeong smiles a lot and dongsaneg is ice-cold. Huh! But to see this 2 extremes being in the same scene, it does feel good though I realize it’s the same actor who played the twins.

 Do Shin-woo

 Do Eun-chang

Why watch? It’s fast paced drama. It’s about the cop trying to catch drug traffickers. Heartless City kind of thing? Nope. Definitively no. This is not an undercover cop drama and Sirius is way more straightforward. The cop ( Do Shin-woo) is actually having motivation to go after the druggies – because his own mother died of drug addiction. Through this 4 hours  ++ ride, his past got revealed where he used to be a timid student, and has a twin hyeong, Do Eu-chang who was imprisoned for homicide. Hurm..if I tell everything about this drama, it’ll be a lengthy entry. All in all, it’s a very fast paced drama, little bit of action thingy and most of it sentimental brotherhood love that would tear your hear apart. Hah! The inner conflicts sure won me over this time.

It got me thinking that it’s cool to have identical twins. When you miss your twin, you just have to look into the mirror and you’ll see your him/her. That’s awesome isn’t? By the way, what is sirius actually? It's the brightest star in the night sky. And why this drama is called sirius? I don't know. But I guess there must be a reason though. Till then, anyeong!

Well, i just happened to read more about sirius. It's a big star and actually a binary star. So i guess the title explains the story...nice pick though.

Its called Sirius to describe both Shin-woo and Eun-chang as the two brightest stars in the sky according to the information i have seen... Open ending though... Ah, my lovely Hyung-shik ^^
