Sharing similarities, celebrating differences

For all the muslims around the world, the blissful month of Ramadhan nearly come to the end. And the Eid is coming very soon. Just like the previous years, Petronas will produce the TV ads and I especially looking forward watching those ads since Petronas will always come with interesting stories in the ad. The previous ads for Merdeka Day( Independence Day), Chinese New Year or even Deepavali usually was very interesting. So as this year Eid’s TV ad.

So, below are just brief descriptions about the storyline in this 14 minutes TV ad.

Erman, a PETRONAS engineer stationed in Central Asia, struggles to adjust to life away from home, when his path crosses that of a local boy, Jeyhun. While Erman and Jeyhun start out as strangers, every step brings them closer to realising their true potential, to reimagining their energy and making a difference to those around them. Its a story of one man's journey of self-discovery and exploration towards the meaning of life. [Credits to PETRONASOfficial for the description]

 Jeyhun

Erman

The story is simple. About two persons, who at first are strangers to each other, later develop understanding and become friends. It’s amazing that the two of them didn’t even understand each other’s language but with the gestures and warm heart, it’s so cool to see them together.  This shows the concept of celebrating the differences and sharing the similarities.

“Mankind! We created you from a male and female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you might come to know each other. The noblest among you in God's sight is that one of you who best performs his duty. God is All-Knowing, All-Aware”
 (The Qur'an , 49:13)

Being away from home is a heart-broken experience, but it’s important to adapt to the lifestyle there. I could still remember when I was away from home to pursue my study; I too had some sort of ‘home-sick’ syndrome. But as the time passes by and you managed to find good friends, things definitely get better. Being away from home also widened my view and made be thankful and appreciate my family more. You will treasure the time you spend with the beloved one when you always being away. That was the only time you can spend with them.

“Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more.
If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough”
(Oprah Winfrey)

So here's the inspiring TV ad I mentioned above, entitled Strangers. Enjoy :D
