My Answer to 2012

Guys, the new year 2013 is coming and thank to 2012 drama that outstandingly made me  laugh, cry, giving me so-called mood swings, giddiness, and all sort of weird feeling as a result of being too emotionally involved with the dramas. This entry could be the most sarcastic, giving everyone sort of heart ache, perhaps.

Moon that Embraces The Sun

One of the dramas that I attached to but as it reaches the halfway, I thought it has lost its excitement. To be honest, I love the child actors more than the adult especially the girl that plays Yeon-woo. No offense, Han Ga-in did a very fine job portraying Yeon-woo but I just like the child version more. About others, they’re not that bad. Child actor Yeo Jin-goo that I loved him so much in a lot of dramas nailed it, as well as Kim Soo-hyun portraying  The King, Lee Hwon. And not to forget, my lovely Jung Il-woo was in it. Though I love the child actor, Lee Min-ho played as young Prince Yang Myung-gun, anyway Jung Il-woo wasn’t really bad. Jung Il-woo shhi, you should be the guy that gets the girl after this, okay?  Yeah, the rating was extraordinarily big, but didn’t make me attach to it so much.
My answer: When the moon embraces the sun, people call it eclipse. Eh? Okay, The Moon That Embraces the Sun felt like eating too much when you’re extremely hungry. You anticipated it so much but you ended up with indigestion. HA! (Don’t take me seriously, please)

Wild Romance

Even it has high tendency to be forgotten, I like the cuteness of this drama. Yeah I was biased because I like Lee Si-young so much but hey, she’s a very talented actor. She dared to take a new extreme and played like a real woman with manly look, and she’s super strong too! Park Mu-yeol is the most hilarious character played by Lee Dong-wook so far, I guess. And I love him in this drama. Though Jessica’s character as Kang Jong-hee pops out in the climax, I don’t think this drama needs her to drive the story forward. Yeah, I’m annoyed.
My answer : Love can be wild too. And becoming a personal bodyguard to a famous baseball player is pretty hard. You have to, urm...be able to withstand raw egg and the taste is just gross..Uh!

Dream High 2

Damn, I liked the first and second episodes, but then it annoyed me so much until it reach the end. It don’t have the  factor that could really drive the story forward.I really did not understand the pace of this drama. I think of it highly because I expected it to be as good,or even more better than  Dream High, but this drama really disappointed me to think that it’s the sequel of Dream High. I’d feel a lot better if it were a different drama with different title. It’s the drama that wasted a possible talents and let the first Dream High swayed along with the disaster that it brings. Humm...

My answer: Damn, why do I watch this drama?

Shut Up! Flower Boy Band

Even though I hate it because the character that I loved so much died really early in the drama( who’s the guy playing Byung-hee?), it’s still good to watch. Still, no offense- better than Dream High 2! The kids has passion and dream. They fresh, daring and brave. And Sung-joon, L plus the gang...hurmmm....I’m swoon.

My answer : I would like this drama if I were younger. Have to accept that I’m getting old. Watching this drama felt like eating hot ramen, so nice!

Operation Proposal

The time traveller Hwang Baek-ho made me confused a little bit, but the cuteness of our babies Yoo Seung-ho and Park Eun-bin were like the eye candy that made me still watch it. I never watch the original version, but this version really confused me a lot.

My answer: Intoxicated. Confusion.

Just an Ordinary Love Story

This mini-series has long forgotten, but I love the fact that it was heart-warming, simple and positive. As the name suggest, this drama just an ordinary one, but it’s just amazing on its own for its simplicity about two person started to love each other, separated and being able to move on with their life. Daebak! Yeon Woo-jin is getting better since I had seen him in Ojakgyo Brothers. Love him!
My answer: Felt like taking my daily meals. Feels nothing but it’s good!

The Equator Man

Honestly, I love the teenage version compared to adult one, for both Jang-il and Sun-woo. Well, the child actors really did their role amazingly. Not to forget, the one that played teenage Jang-il is the handsome child version Heo Yeom in The Moon That Embraces The Sun. Swoon! It’s the handsome Im Siwan! Alongside with Lee Hyeon-woo as Kim Sun-woo, I really wished they didn’t grow up. For the first 4 episodes, I kept watching without complaining because I think the drama is great. With the cute Lee Hyeon-woo and the innocent pretty face of Im Siwan, who would complained? Well, of course they have the talent! But when the characters grow up, I skipped and lost the feeling. I thought that the adult actors seemed to be too matured to be a college/university student. I wished they continue using the child actors during the college time. I know that Umh Tae-woong, Lee Bo-young and Lee Jun-hyuk can really act well, but the feeling is not the same. I love Lee Jun-hyuk in City Hunter, but I did not seem to like him in this drama.

My answer : Felt like...as if I need anti-psychotic drugs.

Rooftop Prince

It was pretty hilarious with The Crown Prince and the gang travelling from Joseon to modern 2012. I enjoyed watching this drama and I can see Yoochun’s acting skill is getting better, even though this drama might not show the best of him. When he had his long Barbie doll haircut, I love him more. HAHA! The storyline is pretty amusing and the chemistry between the leading man and lady was so great.

My answer: A bar of chocolate, you’re happy while eating, you finished it and sometimes craves for it.

Queen Inhyun’s Man

Daebak! That’s all I can say about this drama. I think it’s perfect, what else to offer? So this drama is officially got the 1st place in my heart. Great writing, directing, acting and all sort of things in making a good drama that not to be forgotten. It’s tight and doesn’t leave any loophole. LOVE IT.

My answer: The greatest meal of the year. And perhaps I should eat pasta everyday!

King 2 Hearts

At first I thought this drama would be as cute as Princess Hours or Goong S, but yeah it’s still cute with a LOT OF ACTION scenes. Let go of the typical kdrama girl who will wait the hero to save her, and all miserable. She’s totally awesome. Since I’m a girl I usually love the actors more than actress, but  King2Hearts proved me otherwise. It’s all depending on the role, to make someone lovable or hateable. But, who would complain about Lee Seung-gi? Haha..by the way, he’s brilliant actor. He knows how to choose his role well.

My answer: I would say YES! This is the drama that I want. Once in a lifetime you’ve got to taste royal meals. HAHA!

I Love Lee Tae Ri

Quite impressive, but the lead actress look old for me. Well, what a bias here since I really really dislike her character in My Princess, but he’s good actress I think. And, I was just able to watch it until 13th episodes since the subtitles were nowhere to be found. Watching the ending without English subtitle hurts me a lot.

My answer: Unable to finish the meal since the side dish was running out.

Dr Jin

Hurmm...one of the funniest drama of the year. Ha! The most unforgettable time-travelling mechanism. A crappy jar foetus that can brings you back through centuries. Nothing can beat this, not even a butterfly , secret cave or a talisman. You know right?

My answer: No comment!

Bridal Mask / Gaksital

Bingo, this is the action drama of the year. If last year City Hunter took the winning trophy for action (yeah, in my dream) it goes to Bridal Mask this year. It has action, melodrama and the fighting spirit. Nothing can beat this drama in terms of giving goosebumps and sincere tears. I love the frenemy between Kang-to and Shunji. It hurts me so much to see them sharing the same screen.

My answer: Eating hot potatoes while reminiscing about your childhood. It does feel great. Kang-to ya, don’t cry.

Ghost

I love this drama, but the sound of phantom of opera bugs me. Hahha..just a joke anyway. Life as a cyber squad + hacker is quite intense after all.

My answer : It’s good when the hacker is on the good side. Awesome.

I Do I Do

For a career woman to fall for a no-name loser was quite insufficient to make me root for this drama. Ermm..it was quite good but the stickiness doesn’t last long.

My answer : I even forgot how the taste was like. Sorry for that.

Gentlemen’s Dignity

I kind of unsure when I first watched this drama since characters were like, ahjussi and ahjumma type. Hahaha..no offense if I were older, I would love to see Jang Dong-gun and Kim Ha-neul  together. Maybe it just doesn’t fit my preference.

My answer: I would like to have a recording pen, give it to me...Kim Do-jin sshi?

Big

It brings promise, twist but no story to tell. It really needs a do-over. Hong sister usually did make fantastic writings, but what’s going on in Big? With the big actors like Gong Yoo and Kim Min-jung Big was unable to make it so well. I’m frustrated.

My answer: You bought some food from the market and only then you realize that it has expired already. Wasted and unfortunately, it’s non refundable items.

Golden Time

A medical drama, again. But it’s not as funny as Dr Jin, not even as so technical like last year’s Brain. I personally love korean medical drama eventhough it was certain I just can’t understand about how the hospital runs. Hurmm...working at ED is too challenging. You need a very competent surgeon and doctors.

My answer :Everyday is on-call day. Sleeping, eating and working at the hospital.

Answer to 1997

The scent of 1997 and youth blossomed in my heart as watched Answer to 1997(or some says, Reply to 1997). Sure, it brings back the memories but I like its realism the most. The first love, crush, and the fangirling over kpop idols felt so close to the audience. Makes me appreciate the advance tech right now, and reminiscing the times when I was a child in 90’s.

My answer : Eating out with BFFs kept laughing and talking  , reminiscing the good old times. Refreshing and yet so delicious.

Ma Boy

So, there’s so much drama that made a girl into a boy because of certain circumstance that force the heroine to act like a boy, what about if we did it the opposite. Boy becomes girl? Awesome. Though it’s quite weird, but the actor is really good looking flower boy, fits perfectly for that role. Kim Soo-hyun is also daebak as schoolgirl. Love her.

My answer: Youghurt drink. Just nice.

Faith

I expected Faith to be much more better than Dr Jin and thanks, Faith had done its job well. I hope faith kept spoon-fed me with the superhuman abilities, the Fantastic 4 style, or X-men style but it doesn’t really showed that toward the end. But overall, it’s good to see Lee Min-ho and Kim Hee-sun playing fusion saeguk. So cute.

My answer: For time-traveller doctors, what you need the most is alcohol rub, some antibiotics and painkiller. I would suggest some anaesthetic agent as well.

Arang &The Magistrate

When mystical creature turns the table, you’ll see to what extend the world might be.
My answer: I though it’s jarred kimchi, but it’s a scary jarred ghost.

Nice Guy

Ottoke? You want revenge so much until you lose yourself along the way. Poor Maru, all of his pain is self inflicting. But because of the fast pace and good plot device plus the superb acting by Song joongki, Moon Chae-won, Park Si-yeon and the rest of the cast ( I don’t remember all of the actors name, anyway) overshadowed the flaw. And I myself was almost crazy about this drama (well, you can look, there’s quite a lot ‘Nice Guy’ tags and I brag about it most of the time) knowing that this is just a drama, so don’t get carried away too much!

My answer : Taste like cheesecake, with too much cheese. Sometime you just want little cheese.

Heunundae Lovers

This drama cracks me off during the first few episodes but at the end, it was just like typical kdrama that putting all the plot device. But it’s a fun-ride to watch Haeundae since it doesn’t go into tooooo extereme like certain drama does and at last they can’t figure out an outstanding ending. Hmmm...it’s simple, but too much plot device. Huh.

My answer : Just an ordinary cream crackers.

Full House Take 2

What’s more laughable than the haircuts. It’s sooo weird like cartoon character came out alive in reel world. Huh, drama why you’re tourturing us with that hairstyle. You’re trying so much to be funny. Anyway, it’s still fun to watch. After waching Shunji, I mean Park Ki-woong in Gaksital as conflicted villain; this is something so cute to Park Ki-woong’s cuteness. And no offence, No Min-woo is cute like

My answer: Eating while listening to k-pop song. Not realized when you finished eating it all.

Vampire Prosecutor 2

If last year I forgot to put Vampire Prosecutor in my year-end review, this year I will never let it go off my hand. I’m in love with this sequel. More blood, more action and the most important, more vampire thingy....and I want moar..moar...come on bring it on Vampire Prosecutor 3? Would it be possible next year?

My answer: More guyliner, more badass, more blood...moarrr...I want more! Season 3, please?

Five Fingers

Makjang of the year, yeah..I guess so....birth secrets are played off quite often that people just don’t have the guts to digest it anymore.

My answer : Twisties..it’s twisted. Should change the description to, my step-son turns out to be my biological son!

May Queen

Another child-switch, birth secret kind of thing. But it’s all about making ship. Friendship, and of course the real SHIP. Anyway May Queen is a ship, yeah ship not the sheep.

My answer: another twisted meals. , my step-daughter turns out to be my biological daughter!

Currently airing drama

I Miss You

“I just need my sanity” that’s it. ..it’s too tragic to bear even in dramaland.

My answer : Teary meal( meal with a lot of tears) , but you’re unable to cry.

Can We Get Married?

It really bugs me when the main couple kept fighting each other. They seriously need a mutual thing call ‘trust’. Because of that I ended up liking the second pairing, Dong-bi and Ki Joong. Can We Break Up is another alias that this drama should consider.

My answer : Taste like Nasi Lemak, a common Malaysian dish and taste good but in the end you’ll be very sleepy.

King of Drama

The first 4 episodes premiered amazingly, but too much things to overcome made me sigh and drama is still, a drama. As it name suggest, there’s a lot of dramatic thingy. Anthony Kim Bong Dal is surely a person who really knows how to do things. Right, writer Lee Go-eun?

My answer : Have you ever eaten curry puff for breakfast? Taste so good!

Alice in Cheongdam-dong

Jean Thierry Cha, can you find a better French name? Why don’t just keep your Korean name? I think it’s better anyway. For Alice, aigoo you should stop pretending. Be true to yourself and don’t be like Yoon-joo.

My answer : Luxurious sweet dessert.

Jeonwoochi

Action, bring it on! I love the first few episodes with magics and badass. It seemed promising

My answer : That’s why Uther banned any practise of magic in the kingdom Camelot.

School 2013

When the bells ring, ....and I found out about Nam Soon’s past, my heart burst again. Why? Why? Drama, you’re great. Keep this coming, and I’ll be crazy. Hahah! I love the conflict between Heung-soo and Nam-soon. This is just amazing.

My answer : Japanese lunch box. So many good stuffs inside.

Despite plenty of the drama that I’ve watched this year, there’re still a lot more that I just decided not to watch. Love Rain, Romance Town II, The Chaser, Hero, My Husband Got A Family, Ohlala Spouse, To The Beautiful You,  etc  ; just to name a few and no offence since I didn’t watch the drama it’s not fair for me write about those drama. It might be good drama as well; it will be my loss not to watch them.

Annunnie’s pick

So, my answer to 2012 dramas? It’s hard to choose what you like the most when you get variety of choices with different taste and looks. But my heart goes for Queen In-Hyun’s Man for the first place. It's an amazing with a tight storyline. The second one goes for Gaksital , Answer to 1997 and King2Hearts sharing the same place. Those dramas are really, great drama ever being produced. And, should I add Vampire Prosecutor 2 in the list too? It's just too great to be forgotten For School 2013, since title was meant for 2013, I’ll keep it to brag about it for next year’s review.

It’s a long post anyway...2012 really gave me menboong (mental breakdown) state where you have plenty of amnesiacs, time-traveller, doctors plus high school rebels and a lot of royal folks. Till then, may 2013 be another wonderful year! Till then, goodbye.
